Rethinking Education for Changing Times<\/h2><\/div><\/div>[vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1479047943354{padding-bottom: 25px !important;}”][vc_column_inner css=”.vc_custom_1475353712646{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”][vc_column_text]During the pandemic, many parents realized the same thing while<\/span> dropping in on schools’ video calls during the pandemic: The education they had secured for their kids wasn\u2019t that <\/span>great. It was highly biased. It was built for tests. It wasn’t terribly engaging. What’s more: The onus was placed on parents to do a majority of the follow through on all-too-short teaching sessions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frustrated parents are faced with a difficult challenge: How can they maintain aggressive careers and also get more involved in their children’s education, providing them with better material and a more involved experience? Even the highest-quality learning pods can only go so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Eureka lab school is based around tech-assisted methodologies that grant parents more direct involvement with their children’s education. The school leverages techniques focused more on a pull\u2014as opposed to push\u2014approach to motivating education in children and enables families to be more involved on kids’ education while not overburdening parents\u2019 already hectic schedules. A Pragmatic Yet Novel Approach<\/h3><\/div>
We believe in the spirit of Montessori and Unschooling models: That our children are drawn to learn on their own, though once a child reaches a certain age there are some subjects that require more structured metrics and instruction\u2014such as math. We believe that never exposing a child to high-pressure tests can negatively impact their development. We combine this worldview into an educational methodology that allows the majority of the motivation for learning to be internal while not allowing children to “forget to eat their vegetables.”<\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> [\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1479047498612{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]

Emotional & Social Intelligence<\/h3><\/div>
Our educational system was created to highlight emotional intelligence – not just in terms of relating to ones own emotional state but in terms of relating to others and the social structures children form that can make our youth such a trying time for us. The system for teaching this was designed by a neuroscience with an MBA from Stanford and best selling author in the subject of behavioral psychology working with an individual who spent her life in all roles across a highly rated public school system from teacher, to principle, to assistant super intended.<\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> [\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1479047503728{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]

A 21st Century Tool Kit<\/h3><\/div>
The skills needed to succeed in today’s society are not those around which the traditional educational system is optimized. Our school system was designed to create colonial administrators, not self the self sufficient entrepreneur that succeed today.<\/p>\n

  • For example:
    \nCoding should not be relegated to a supplemental class, an afterthought. We understand that a child who graduates from middle school without being able to code is more handicapped than one who graduates without speaking a second language.<\/li>\n
  • Entrepreneurship, product management, and writing business plans are just as important as literary analysis.<\/li>\n
  • Knowing how to create prototype using 3D printers and a maker studio is as important as understanding the basics of chemistry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The reason we don’t teach young children particle physics is not because they are not capable of learning it\u2014it is because its not on standardized tests for their age range and the people teaching them don’t know it. The work of L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Polg\u00e1r makes it clear that young children can pick up advanced concepts at levels that even exceeds what adults can accomplish so long as they are presented to children in a way that is competent and engages them.
